| Of the six children of Maurice Collins and Eliza nee Davoren, three died quite young. Michael Patrick was attending St Michael's school and fell into the Murrumbidgee river behind the gasworks and drowned; five years earlier Maurice and Cornelius fell into the Murrumbidgee river near their father's butchery (near where KFC is now), Maurice died straight away, and Cornelius died three days later. Mary Frances became a Sister in the Presentation Order, and was known as Sr Elizabeth. When William was in his forties, he died in a traffic accident. |
