WEDDING. -------- ELLIS—HAMILTON. -------- On Saturday last a very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Andrew's Church, Wagga, the participants being Adelaide, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hamilton, of Yathelyla, and Clyde, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Ellis, of Summer Hill, Sydney, and formerly of Bimbi. The Rev. J. B. Rintoul was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, was charmingly frocked in ivory satin, cut on classical lines, with a spray of orange blossom at the waist. The very beautiful veil, which was lent by the brides' aunt, Mrs. Cole Hamilton, was lined with pink tulle and fastened across the forehead with the customary orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of dahlias and gladioli, the gift of the bridegroom, and also a white ribbon horseshoe, the gift of Mrs. Oehm, senr. The bride was attended by her sister and cousin, Misses Flo and Eileen Hamilton, as bridesmaids, who wore ankle-length blue and beige satin, respectively, with hat and shoes to tone. They carried bouquets of autumn tinted dahlias, which, with fringed nappa gauntlets, were the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom's two brothers, Walter and Mervyn, carried out the duties of best man and groomsman. After the ceremony the guests repaired to the "Elizabeth," where the reception was held, the bride's mother receiving the guests in navy georgette, relieved with white, and navy hat. The bridegroom's mother was frocked in black georgette with black and white accessories. A feature of the breakfast was the beautiful three tiered wedding cake, made and dec- orated by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Thos. Hamilton, which all admired. The Rev. Rintoul occupied the chair and the usual toasts were honored. The happy couple left by the mail train for Sydney, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride traveled in a dark red ensemble, with hat to tone. A large crowd assembled at the station to say good-bye, and they were given an enthusiastic send-off. |
