- Notes: I am the grandson of Norman Bertram Pabst who died in 1977. His two children are still alive. Their surname was Hughes after their widowed grandmother Ada Minnie (died 1939) changed their surname back to her maiden name in 1917 due to the war and anti-German sentiment. My mother is the only descendant of the German of Germanton still living in the town (Holbrook).
