Personal Notes:
Robert was the last born ofthefamily ofNellie and Herman. He was born in Esk and went to school at Moore. At Rural School he excelled at leatherwork and fine woodwork.

As he grew older he was interested in bee keeping and his hobbies were cards and dancing. He loved music and encouraged his family to take an interest in it. He acquired a dairy farm adjoining the home property at Moore, and in 1940 he married Ellen at Nanango. Eventually they raised a family of three girls and a boy, the latter recently inherited the "Glen Hills" properties.

Robert's ambition however, was to get away from Moore to better dairying country at Kenilworth, and this he did purchasing properties over a period of time until he had a sizeable aggregation. The dairy herd, in production, was driven across, taking two days, being milked as necessary on the way.

In 1945 Robert contracted brucellosis fever, undiagnosed at the time, and this resulted in a continuing degeneration of his health. He died at the relatively young age of fifty-three.
