OBITUARY. MRS SARAH MEREDITH. WE regret to announce the death of a very old resident of Queanbeyan in the person of Mrs. Sarah Meredith, who passed away at her residence, Garryowen Queanbeyan on Sunday last, at the advanced age of 79 years. For the past five years, Mrs. Meredith had been afflicted with a very painful disease and for two years, had suffered acutely. The deceased lady was a native of Letterkenny, Ireland, and arrived in Australia 65 years ago. With the exception of two years in Goulburn, the whole of the long period was spent in Queanbeyan. Deceased's husband, the late Mr. William Meredith, died some years ago and she, is survived by five sons and three daughters. Messrs. William and Thomas Meredith and Miss Jane Meredith reside in Queanbeyan. Two sons are resident in Queensland and one at Harden. Two married daughters, Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Holmes are living at Jindabyne and Wallenbeen. The remains of the deceased were interred yesterday afternoon, in the Roman Catholic portion of the general cemetery, a large concourse of friends and relatives attending the funeral. The Rev. Father Donnelly recited the office for the dead. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved relatives. |
