Personal Notes:
Shelia Jehane Campbell Hannah. She was born on 9 May 1905 at McLachlan Street, Orange, in NSW. We know little of her early life or schooling.
It seems that she worked for her father until she became engaged in 1925, to Roy James Edwards from the Elderalle station near Winton in Queensland.
From the Brisbane Courier Thursday 18 June 1925
ENGAGEMENT NOTICES. EDWARDS-HANNAH.
The engagement is announced between Jehane, only daughter of David and Gertrude Hannah, Kilcummin, Clermont, to Roy Edwards, Elderalle Station, second son of John Edwards and the late Mrs. Edwards of Caromar, Deniliquin, New South Wales.
She married Roy James Edwards in Rockhampton in 1927. After they were married they lived near Winton in Queensland.
From the Morning Bulletin (Rockhampton), Qld Saturday 19 March 1927
PERSONAL NEWS.
The marriage of Jehane Hannah, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Hannah Kilcummin, Clermont, to Mr. Roy Edwards, Elderslie, Winton, took place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church yesterday. The Rev. J. A. Hunter officiated. The bride, who looked charming, wore a jumper suit of while crepe de chene, with touches of red, with a while felt hat and carried a shower bouquet of red dahlias. She entered the church on the arm of her grandfather, Mr. Thomas Berrie, who gave her away in the unavoidable absence of her father. The wedding breakfast was held, at the Leichardt Hotel, the table being tastefully decorated with red recelias and Michaelmas daisies. A large, wedding, bell was suspended over the head of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards left later by car, for Yeppoon. The bride travelled in a frock of grey and red marocain, with a red felt hat and shoes and stockings to match. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. N. Caswell. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Lawrie, Mr and Mrs. Ken Hannah, Mrs. Malcolm, Miss Lesley Lawrie, Rev. J. A. Hunter, and Messrs. G. Berrie, T. Berrie, and E. Lawrie.
It is interesting that her father did not attend the wedding, although he may well have been caught in floods or similar which that part of the country often suffers.
