Robert Venour, b. 1802 at Paignton, Devonshire. m. 1837 Eliza Jane, b. 1814, dau. of Colonel John George Nathaniel Gibbes. Collector of Customs at Sydney. She d. 1892. He settled first at Claremont near Penrith and later at Dubbo, where he was the first settler. In 1839 appointed a Commissioner for Crown Lands and a Justice of the Peace. d. 1853
