Personal Notes:

Robert Johnston and his wife Alecia arrived in Melbourne in 1857 from Co Fermanagh, Ireland. Robert was a storeman on "Brookong Station" In 1867 & 1868 he took up Portions 16 & 17, 200 acres in the Parish of Yarragundry. Alecia died in 1879 leaving a young family. Robert headed a petition for the construction of a school at Yarragundry in 1881. The Johnstons were all lovers of horses.
