| - Notes: Sarah Ann Stanley came to Australia on "Scottish Knight" at age 21, & she is listed as a Remittance passenger. (Which means her passage was paid for by someone else.) She was with Jane White who was also a witness at her marriage. They are listed on page 1283. I have no details as to what year but most likely 1876 or 1877 as she married in 1877 at age 22. The marriage cert says she was born in Ballanderry, Tipperary, but Google tells me Ballinderry is in the nth near Dublin, and BALLANGARRY is in Tipperary. [ a case of Chinese whispers????]. Her parents were given as William Stanley, farmer, and Catherine Skerritt. I am at a dead end here so far. |
