William Brayshaw was a convict. He arrived in the colony aboard the ship " Henry Porcher " The ship sailed from Sheerness in Downs in England on the 4th September 1834 and arrived at Port Jackson on the 1st January 1835, New Years Day. The voyage took 119 days.
William had been charged with stealing a silver plate and was tried at Leeds Quarter Sessions on the 6th January 1834. He had a previous conviction where he had been sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. This time he was sentenced to 7 years transportation. Following his arrival he spent 5 years at Coolringdon where he worked for Thomas Ryrie and then 50 years at Bobeyan where he and Flora raised their 14 children.
