| - Notes: His paternal great-grandmother was Ellen May MOORE born at Tambo Queensland 01/05/1875 to William MOORE and Ellen NUGENT.
Ellen’s maiden name was NUGENT and she was the widow of William Dudley RIDER with 2 young children when she married William MOORE. There is other people’s quite detailed research available on the NUGENTs. William MOORE is more elusive however and I believe the information online is not quite correct. Unfortunately the marriage transcript of William MOORE and Ellen NUGENT contains very scant information (the marriage was conducted by the very notorious Rev William Bailey of the Free Church of England in 1868 in Sydney). It does say William MOORE was a widower, occupation “bushman”. Ellen’s first husband died in Queensland (I believe the heavily pregnant Ellen eloped with William RIDER and their marriage took place in Queensland). Sometime after Ellen married William MOORE, they returned to Queensland with Ellen’s two young children and then commenced their own family ….Catherine Anne MOORE 14/01/1871; Richard MOORE 30/06/1872; John MOORE 22/11/1873; Ellen May MOORE 1/5/1875; Charles Henry MOORE 4/7/1877; Clara Agnes MOORE 3/7/1879 and Frederick James MOORE 17/8/1882. |
