| - Notes: WeddIng. A wedding oreating a great deal of local interest was celebrated in! Goulburn on Wednesday;w hen Mr. Herbert August Beegling, fourth son of Mr.' and Mirs. W. F. A. Beegling, of "Pomeroy," Goulburn, was married to Miss Zoe Zarine Cooper, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Cooper, of" Kilmorey," Cowper-street. The ceremony was performed at " Kilmorey" at 2 o'clock by the Ven. Archdeacon Bartlett, who was assisted by Rev. Erlic Menlove. The bride, who was given away by her father, was beautifully costumed in silver gray eoliehne over charmeuse, with soutache braidings, and picture hat. She also carried a bouquet of sheaf lilies of the valley and pink carnations. Her present from the bridegroom was a handsome necklet. The bridesmaids were Miss Nellie Isaac and Miss Neuha Cooper. The former wore a frock of ashes of roses silk crepe and black tagel hat, and the latter was daintily attired in white muslin. They carried bou quets similar to that of the bride, and wore tourmaline and pearl bracelets, gifts of the bridegroom. Eric Madden was page, his gift being a pair of gold sleeve links. Mr. A. E. Beegling was best man. Miss Sylvia Riley played " The Wedding March " as the party entered. At theconclusion a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, where Mr. and Mrs. Beegling received the congratulations of relatives and-.friends. The presents made a handsome collection, and included sev eral cheques. Amongst the gifts was a beautiful set of silver fruit knives and forks in oak case, from the mem bers of the Goulburn Musical and Operatic Society, and a handsome sil ver'.salver, inscribed, from' the mem bers of the Queanbeyan Liberal Associ ation. Mr. and Mrs Beegling left by motor car for the South Coast, where the honeymoonwill be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a tailor made coat and skirt and hat en suite. On Tuesday evening nearly a hunu dred, townsmen assembled in the Royal :Hotel, Goulburn, to do honour to Mr. H. A. Beegling and to convey their congratulations to him on the eve of his marriage. He was presented with a cheque, with which to purchase some memento from his Goulburn friends. |
