| - Notes: Mary Atkinson was born in 1858 at Black Lead Cambrian Hill , Bunninyong Victoria . The second daughter of Thomas Atkinson and Catherine Clarke. Thomas Atkinson was born 1831-1833 in Knockbride Cavan Ireland to Thomas Atkinson and Daphne Alice Cusack. Some of his sisters were born in Seefin Knockbride ,so Thomas was likely born in seefin. But the register is missing. Thomas Atkinson married Catherine Clarke in April 1855 in Seefin . Catherine was born in 1836 in Seefin Knockbride Cavan to Patritii Clark and Margaretta Carrolan.(Patrick and Margaret.) After they married ,they set sail to Australia where two of Thomas Atkinson's ssters had arrived in 1850. Thomas and Catherine arrived in Adelaide around September 1855. In October they boarded the Burra Burra bound for Point Henry near Geelong. Thomas and Catherine were in Ballarat when in 10 February 1856 in East Ballarat Catherine had a daughter named Bridget . Bridget Ellen Atkinson was my Great Grandmother. The family then found their way to the Black Lead in Cambrian Hill Bunninyong where Mary was born in 1858. Other children followed. In 1874 Catherine gave birth to a daughter named Catherine. The infant died shortly after . Catherine followed . Thomas Atkinson died in 1898 after being caught in a brush fire on his property at Cambrian Hill. I share DNA with Lynette Catasta who is a descendant of Mary Teresa Atkinson. By putting a picture of Mary Teresa Atkinson next to Bridget Ellen Atkinson and any questions are ruled out. They look like twins. |
