Personal Notes:
Daisy was born on 2 August 1877 at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, to parents William Riley (later Bailey) and Sarah Ann Skates[1]. Daisy was born with the surname 'Riley'. This was changed to Bailey when her father changed his surname. Her father was working as a porter. She was baptised on 17 October 1877 at St. John's The Evangelist, Wagga Wagga[2]. The surname on her baptism record was recorded as Bailey.

Daisy grew up at Wagga Wagga. Her father owned property on Fox Street and Peter Street[3]. She was one of 9 children born to William and Sarah and she had two half-siblings - Thomas Knight Bailey (previously Addleton), and James Skates. William purchased 183 acres of land on the Albury Road (about 11 miles from Wagga Wagga) and the family settled there. At some point, Daisy moved to Gregadoo, NSW.

Daisy married Robert Henry Angel on 20 March 1897 at St Johns Chapel, Wagga Wagga. At the time of their marriage, Daisy was living at Gregadoo, and Robert was living at Wagga Wagga and working as a saddler. Witnesses to their marriage were two of Robert's sisters[4].

Daisy and Robert settled at Red Bank, Lake Albert, and worked as dairy farmers[5]. They had seven children: Spencer William, Ivy Irene, Eric Leslie, Ella Florence, Lorna Robena, Una Glory, and Wilma May. Robert decided to cease dairy farming and sold his cattle, machinery and two horses at auction in 1900[6]. By 1902, the family were living at Woodlands, near Wagga Wagga. Robert was working as a boundary rider[7]. By 1913, the family were living at Avondale, The Rock, NSW and Robert was working as a farmer again[8].

The family moved to Borambola at some point before 1917. Daisy nursed her father, William, for the last two years of his life; he was mainly bedridden[9]. They were involved in the local community and their house was a meeting point for community meetings. They were part of setting up a tennis and football club, and were part of the first Parents and Citizens' Association; Robert was elected to the position of secretary & treasurer[10]. They also were part of working bees to help soldier settlers with setting up their land. In 1919, they were part of a working bee that assisted two soldier settlers with setting up their land (installing a tank, fencing, ploughing etc.). Daisy coordinated the refreshments[11].

By 1930, the family had moved to Park Street, Temora, NSW[12]. Robert died in 1934 at Park Street[13]. Daisy lived there until at least 1943 and then with her daughter Wilma at 14 Shaw Street, Urana and York Street, Tahmoor[14]. Daisy died on 22 June 1955 at York Street, Tahmoor from Arterio Sclerosis, Diabetes Mellitus, and Senility. The informant was her son Spencer[15]. She is buried in the Old Temora Cemetery, Temora.
