- Notes: I am Dorothy's and Edward’s youngest son.
Our surname is Mongan (no ‘H’). Mum died in Pambula Hospital on 1 June 1973. She would have turned 66 on 26 August.
Dad was grew up on the family farm in Osborne’s Flat. He was born in 1904. He retired from NSW Police Force in 1964 and we moved to Merimbula. I completed my schooling in Goulburn and took a job in Canberra. Dad moved into aged care in Canberra and died in 1993 shortly after his 89th birthday.

My maternal great-grandmother is Elizabeth Boulgaris. Her father Ghikas was transported from Malta for piracy. His name apparently has 30-40 variations. His grave in Nimmitabel has two different versions.
