Aged 99 Years and 5 months
Daughter of William and Mary Ann nee Price Married William in 1841 at Bungonia in the Goulburn District with 13 children born of this union. The Bega Budget (NSW : 1905 - 1920) Wed 26 Sep 1917 DEATH. Mrs. William Britten, senior, died on Sunday at the advanced age of 99 years. She had resided in town for a long period, and for 38 years had been devotedly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. W. Britten. Deceased was born at Parramatta in 1818, and came to this district 61 years ago. She reared a family of 14. Those living are Messrs.Joshua, Thomas and Harry Britten, Mrs. C Anderson (Sydney), Mrs. Lloyd (Perth), Mrs. Jervis and Mrs, Conlon (Melbourne), Mrs. J. Sercombe. Those who predeceased their mother were Messrs. William, John and Samuel Britten, Mrs. John Pruss, Mrs. W. Childs, and Miss Elizabeth Britten. The late Mrs. Britten was a great-great grandmother, and left nearly 200 descendants. The remains were interred in the Anglican cemetery on Monday afternoon, and the Rev. B. D.
