| George Birch drove coaches for his father-in-law before coming to NSW. The family moved to Dubbo, then back to Methul. He then worked as a railway fettler on the Wagga Wagga viaduct, as a groom for Hodgson Brunskill, farm labourer and share-farmer. He had his own farm, ‘Cherwell’ at Mangain in later years. Katy was a talented musician, church organist at Downside & Currawarna and was a teacher of music. Lived at Downside, Mangain, Numurkah, Dubbo. Was a keen cricketer and church goer, member of the Wagga Wagga, NSW Methodist Choir. |
