He married Rebecca Mackay and they lived at 'Evadell', Ginninderra for 15 years before moving to Spring Flat near Hall. Their children were Annie Lilian (Mrs Eric Bolton), Septimus Jonathan (Paddy), Ivy Irene (died aged 21) and Frederick Leslie. Rebecca died in 1932 and Frederick died in 1952. Leon Smith recalls, 'I once watched with great interest the late Mr Fred Munday choosing a pair of shears at Hall store. He tested the strength of the springs of many pairs before making a purchase' [Smith p.80] Obituary - Mr Frederick Munday The death occurred in the Canbera Community Hospital early on Saturday of Mr. Frederick Munday, a pioneer of the Canberra district. The late Mr. Munday, who was 81, was born at Gungahlin, where his father was head gardener. He was keenly interested in the land and took up a property known as Evadell at Ginninderra, more than 50 years ago. After 13 years, he transferred to the Yass district, where he engaged in farming for 20 years. He retired from the land 13 years ago and until his death resided in Higgins Crescent, Ainslie. The late Mr. Munday was one of the pioneer worshippers at St. John's, and was a church warden at Jeir for 12 years. He will be buried in the family grave in the chuchyard of St. John's to-day. The late Mr. Munday was predeceased by his wife 19 years ago. He is survived by a daughter (Mrs. E. T. Bolton, of Ainslie), and two sons (Frederick, of Ainslie, and Patrick, of Ginninderra). Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Mackay of Wargula, Yass where she was born. After her marriage she resided at 'Evadell' Ginninderra till about 15 years ago when they moved to Spring Flat Hall...Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Mrs Eric Bolton of Hall and two sons, Mr Septimus Munday of Queanbeyan and Mr Frederick Leslie Munday of Spring Flat.
