NZ-born Harry Playfair Mouat who played an important part in survey work in the ACT.
For many years he was responsible for all hydrometric surveys and also carried out reconnaissance surveys in the Adaminaby area when a hydro-electric scheme for Canberra/south coast was being considered. The Snowy Hydro-Electric Authority referred to Harry's work when carrying out later development. In his later years Harry was Commonwealth Property Officer in Sydney. Mouat Street in Canberra's Lyneham bears his name.
