Personal Notes:
Henry Born (?14 February) 1853 (estimated). He was the youngest of the four brothers according to the article on his wedding in The Sydney Morning Herald of Saturday, 2nd February 1884. He probably served in the Royal Irish Constabulary before deciding to emigrate to Australia. Even though, unfortunately, no full address is given, elements in the RIC Service Records indicate that it is the same Henry Deeves. He was twenty years old when he enrolled on 8th September 1873; a farmer’s son from Tipperary South Riding. He was Methodist. The person who recommended him (a necessary prerequisite for all aspiring recruits) was the sub-inspector of Mullinahone. He served in County Mayo from the 31st March 1874 until he resigned from the RIC on 15th June 1876.
He emigrated to Australia. He married Elizabeth Amelia Yeoman Murphy on 9th January 1884. 1891 NSW Census : Glebe, NSW, Australia. Henry died on 11th December 1928 at the age of 75 at Bexhill and is buried in Bexhill cemetery.
Henry and Elizabeth had three children : Clarence H Deeves (b.1885); Oliver C Deeves (b. 1886); Mary Hannah E M Deeves (b. 1889) (Enfants à verifier)
