The Tumut and Adelong Times 13 Aug 1929
DEATH OF MR. HENRY W. HOAD. At 11 a.m. yesterday the inexorable reaper, Death, claimed another of the old brigade of real Tumut pioneers, in the person of Mr. Henry William Hoad, a native at the advanced age of 79 years. In his day deceased was one of our prominent public men, and did his part towards the progress and prospertiy of town and district. He had been ailing for some months. His remains will be accorded an Oddfellows' burial, he being one of the oldest, if not the oldest, of the members of Loyal Tumut Lodge, M.U.I.O.O.F.
