Obituary
DEATH OF MRS GEORGE HARRIS
Once again the intrusion of the grim Reaper has caused us unwillingly to record another departure in the person of Mrs Harris, wife of Mr George Harris, of Tumut Plains, at the early age of 32 years. The cause oi death was consumption, of which deceased had complained for over 12 months. Her devoted husband, ever solicitous for her welfare, at the first stages of her malady sent her to Sydney to a private Hospital, and the advice of the best doctors was for her to return to Tumut, as her case was beyond medical skill to effect a cure. Her trouble still continued and worked out its inevitable end. Drs Mason and Browne afforded relief temporarily to the sufferer. She has gone, and the bereaved husband and family must say, with us —
Farewell ! Since never more for thee
The Sun comes up on Eastern skies ;
Less bright henceforth shall sunshine be
To some fond hearts and waking eyes
There are who, for thy last long sleep,
Shall sleep as sweetly nevermore;
Shall weep because thou canst not weep
And geieve that all thy griefs are o'er
Sad thrift of Love !
The loving breast
On which the aching head was thrown
Gave up the weary head to rest,
But kept the aching for its own.

The deceased was a daughter of the late J Forrester. She was bom at Kiandra. A sorrowing husband, five five little ones (the youngest between 2 and 3 years of age) and three sisters (Mrs J Eastwood, Sydney, Mrs J Patrick, Ravine, and Mrs H McDonald, (Barranyatte) are left disconsolate behind. In her last hours she had the solace prayers and consolation of her church, and died peaceably. An on the lips the faint smile almost said ' None knows life's secret but the happy dead.' The funeral of the deceased took place yesterday, the remains being placed to rest in the Church of England portion of the old cemetry. Rev W D Kennedy officiated at the graveside, and Mr Jas Elpnick directed the funeral arrangements.
