OBITUARY THE LATE MR. JAMES WOODBRIDGE The funeral of the late Mr James Woodbridge, on Tuesday morning last, was the largest Gundagai has ever known. Over 100 motor cars joined in the cortege, and they spread over a distance of 1 1/2 miles. The coffin was smothered in wreaths, and a lorry had to be seured could not be put in the hearse. People came from all the surrounding parts, and some travelled , per motor, over 200 miles. The Shire Council, which was sitting at the time of the funeral, adjourned, and all the Councillors present joined the cortege. As the funeral, went past the Catholic Church, the pupils of the Convent School were marshalled in ranks, and at the cemetery members of the Local Hibernian Lodge formed up. The Rev. Father Treacy read the last prayers, and the graveside scene was a touching one. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Jack and George Woodbridge (cousins), Mr. G. Sarfirigton (cousin), H. Kenny, C. Gardiner and J. Webb. The mourners included deceased's wife,his father, mother, brother, Mr. Geo. Woodbridge (uncle), and Mrs. G. Woodbridge Mrs. Woodbridge (grandmother), Mrs. Barrington (Parkes, aunt), Mr: Fred Wood bridge (Uncle).
