OBITUARY MRS. JOTT S. SUTTON The death of one of the native born of the district, Mrs. Helen Sutton, wife of Mr. Jott Sutton, Fitzroy-st., Tumut, occurred in the Tumut District Hospital on Friday morning last. She was taken ill on the previous Friday and on the following Thursday entered hospital for treatment for heart trouble. All that was possible was done for her to restore the failing heart, but without avail. Deceased was the fourth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Withers, her father being a well-known grazier of "Frankfield," Tarrabandra. In 1890 she was married to Mr. J. S. Sutton, of Tumut, and they resided here ever since with the exception of a short period when they went to Sydney and launched in a business venture, only to return later, Mr. Sutton taking up his old position with the Shire Council. Deceased commanded the respect and affection of all who knew her. To the union was born only one child, Hazel, the late Mrs. E. J. Johnson, who predeceased her some years since. Besides the sorrowing husband there are four sisters (Mrs. Jones, Mrs. T. Lindley and Mrs. C. J. Nicholls of Gundagai and Mrs. T. Dunn of Temora), and four brothers (Walter of Canberra, Frank of Queensland, Albert of Gloucester and Arthur of Forbes) to mourn their loss. Mr. Len. Withers, Tumut Railway Station, is a nephew. The funeral took place on Saturday, the remains being interred in the C. of E. portion of the New Cemetery, Rev. S. Broadfoot officiating at the graveside and Mr. C. W. Burt carrying out the mortuary arrangements.
