Personal Notes:
The death occurred in a private hospital in Wagga, after a short illness, on Thursday evening of Mr. Henry Nolan, of " Ellambah," Cookardinia, one of the best-known residents of the Cookardinia district, at the age of 71 years. Mr. Nolan had lived for many years in the district and was held in high esteem. He is survived by seven sons, Messrs. Sydney Nolan, of Henty, Lachlan, Frederick, Keith, Norman and Ronald Nolan, of Cookardinia, and Colin Nolan, of Melbourne, and two brothers, Messrs. Frederick Nolan, of Holbrook, and Sydney Nolan, of Melbourne, and four sisters, Mesdames H. Parnell, of Cookardinia, Emma Kelly, of Melbourne, Gavin Simpson, of Adelaide, and E. Marshall, of Sydney. His funeral took place on Saturday after- noon at Cookardinia and, despite the inclement weather, was largely attended. The cortege left the Church of England, Cookardinia after a service had been conducted by the Rev. H. H. Kyte, of Holbrook. Interment took place in the Cookardinia cemetery, where the Rev. Kyte officiated at the graveside. The casket, laden with beautiful wreaths, was carried to the grave by Messrs. Allan, Lachlan, Colin, Keith, Ronald and Norman Nolan (sons). The pall-bearers were Messrs. George Mohr (brother-in-law), Michael Maher, Alister Ross, Arthur Hulme, John Parnell, Patrick Parnell, Harry Kelly and Matt. Crouch. In addition to the abovementioned relatives many friends were present from Holbrook, Cookardinia, Mangoplah, Henty, Yerong Creek, Morven, Albury, Wagga, and surrounding districts. The funeral arrangements were conducted by Mr. J. C. M'Donald, of Wagga.
