Ducat-Laugher

A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated in the Albert street Methodist Church on April 15, when Mr Irvine Macleay Ducat (second son of Mr. and Mrs W H Ducat Piggabeen Tweed River) was married to Miss Linda Under- wood Laugher (only daughter of Mr C U Laugher, Cleveland) The Rev B Bottomley officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty gown of embroidered voile over ?ntin, the bodice being softly draped and finished with a soft satin flower and draped belt. The skirt was arranged with tunic and slightly trained. She also wore a wreath and veil, and carried a shower bouquet of white roses cactus dahlias and bouvardias, which, with her necklet of pearls and aquamarines was a gift from the bridegroom. Misses Vera Dangerfield and Beulah Ducat (sister of the bridegroom) acted as brides maids. They wore pretty frocks of white voile inlet with guipure and Valen ciennes lace, and Juliet caps of net and lace finished with posies of pink buds. They carried bouquets of pink roses, bouvardins and chrysanthemums, which, with their gold bangles were gifts from the bridegroom. Mr C Winton Ducat acted as best man and Mr B Laugher as groomsman. Subsequently the guests were entertained at the Cafe Majestic Mrs C U Laugher wore a costume of light royal blue crepe de Chine the bodice showing vest and sleeves of cream lace and the skirt being draped and finished with lace tunic. She also wore a black satin hat with a blue mount. Mrs W H Ducat sen wore n black paillette costume, and a black hat with shaded brown mount. Mr and Mrs I Macleay Ducnt left later in the afternoon for Tambourine Mountain
