THE LATE MRS. J. ROBINSON.
We gave in our last issue particulars relating to the melancholly death of Mrs. John Robinson, of Bombowlee, and have since been supplied with the following particulars of her lineage:— She
was the 6th daughter of the late Mr. Wm. McAlister, and was in her 61st year. Her maiden name was Jemima McAlister, and she was one of the brightest and most cheerful young women of her day. She was married to the late Mr. Wm Oddy, who predeceased her by about 18 years, as also did four of her sisters (Mrs. J. Dodd, Mrs. Smiles, Mrs. W. Eggleton, and Caroline, the latter having been burnt to death at
the age of 13 years), and four brothers (Messrs. John, Willism, Henry, and James McAlister). The only surviving members of the family are Messrs. Robert, George, and Thomas McAlister, Mrs. Beattie, Mrs. Smiles, and Mrs. T. Dodd. Deceased was born at Wereboldera, near Tumut, and by her first marriage four daughters were given birth to (Mrs. Thomas, of Lobb's Hole, Mrs Cann, of Sydney, Mrs, F. W. Weeden, and Miss Lizzie Oddy), and one son, John, died in his youth. She was married about six years ago to Mr.
John Robinson, who is in comfortable circumstances, and was able to supply her with a nice home and every comfort that she could desire, which he most ungrudgingly gave to her, proving himself to be quite a model husband. He spared neither expense nor trouble to get his affectionate wife restored to her wonted state of health, and feels very keenly the remorse of separation.
