Personal Notes:
The Tumut and Adelong Times 29 Ooct 1929
WEDDING A pretty wedding was celebrated on 25th Sept., at the R.C. Church, Tumut, when Ivy Eleanor (Nellie), daughter of Mr. W. Connors, of Newtown, Tumut, was married to Mr. Gerald Quirk by Rev. Fr. Sharkey. P.P. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked stweet in a frock of white satin and georgette, trimmed with silver lace and orange blossom. The bridal bouquet was of camilias, stocks and sweetpeas. Mrs Frank Connors acted as matron of honor, daintily attired in beige lace over pink, with hat to match, and carried cream fresias and pink hyacinths tied with pink tulle and ribbon. Mr. W. Quirk filled the role of best man. The reception was held at the residence of the bride's father. The bride's travelling dress was of navy create faced satin, worn with a smart choker and hat to match. The honeymoon was spent in Sydney and the South Coast. The happy couple were the recipients of many numerous and costly presents.
