Personal Notes:
The Tumut and Adelong Times 10 Sep 1946
OBITUARY MR. JOHN FOX Death on Friday last was a happy release for one of Junee' s best known identities, Mr. John Fox, of Marrar, who had been suffering acutely for a considerable time, but who bore his cross with a characteristic fortitude. Had the old gentleman lived for another month he would have been 74 years of age. He was born at Muttama, but went to the Coolamon district about 60 years ago and then went on to the Old Junee area, where he took up farming. Later he transferred to Marrar, where a motor garage attracted his attention. For some years, however, he has been retired. Deceased is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Louie Iverach, whom he married at Coolamon over 40 years ago, and six children, Donald James (Albury), Mrs. Doug. Young (Jean, Tumut), Jack (Marrar), Miss Nellie Fox (Melbourne), Charles (Marrar) and Roy (Henty). There are also 14 grandchildren. Two sisters (Rachel and Hannah) and one brother (George) predeceased Mr. Fox, who is survied by several other members of his family; Mrs. L. A. Vincent (Belmore), Mrs. T. Laity (Chatswood), Mrs. Robert Stevenson (Marrar), James Fox (Wagga) and William Fox (Griffith).
