OBITUARY - MR. JAMES KEENAN The death occurred in the Tumut and District Hospital in the early hours of Friday last of Mr. James Keenan, a Batlow resident of long standing, at the age of 76 years. Born at Brisbane on 3rd August, 1866, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keenan and came to Batlow when only a small boy and engaged in orcharding and general farm work. In 1906 he married Miss Florence Skein at the Manse, Tumut, and a family of three sons and four daughters were born to the union, of whom one daughter, Grace, is deceased. Those surviving are Kevin, Hector, Wilfred, Edna, Grace (Mrs. Schlegal) and Muriel (Mrs. Langford). He is also survived by his widow and two brothers, Jack (Sydney) and Stewart (Batlow) and one sister, Mary (Mrs. Houston), Melbourne. The funeral took place on Saturday last, the remains being interred in the Presbyterian portion of the Batlow Cemetery, the Rev. Donald M.
