| - Notes: I also have the death certficate of Lavinia Wells who died "25 August, 1873 Forest Street, Forest Lodge". On the certificate, George John Wells, as informant, had it recorded that Lavinia's mother was Lavinia Petty. However, I have extensively researched the Wells family starting 30 years ago, and back then I was able to view microfilms of actual parish registers recording births (sometimes), baptisms, and marriages. For instance, I found William Wells' wife Lavinia was the daughter of James Petty and Ann Harris and baptised 1814 in St Giles Church, Reading, Berkshire. James Petty was an innkeeper/publican/victualler in Silver Street, Reading. |
