John Bowman lived with his growing family in Wagga Wagga from 1881 to 1890. During this time he was promoted from first class constable to Senior Constable. He was commended for the cleanliness of the cells in the Wagga Lockup in the Wagga Daily Advertiser Oct 7 1886.
