| - Notes: John Joseph Hind Curll was born in Bathurst and came with his father George Curll and his mother to Deep Creek in 1852. They had a grazing property there on which they ran cattle and sheep.
When John Curll was quite a young man he commenced driving a horse team from Tumut to Bowning which was then the rail head, for station supplies. He was a tireless worker and frequently travelled his team at night to avoid the heat of the day. John Curll married Hannah Glover of Bowning. For some years they lived in Capper Street and then bought the fine farming property at Blowering and later bought another good farm at Westwood. He was an industrious and prosperous farmer and dairyman. Their family (all sons) were: > George Curll, > Thomas Curll, > John Curll, > Edward Curll, > Arthur Curll, > Richard Curll, > Charles Curll. They were all excellent farmers and good citizens. |
