John Watkins was a convict who arrived at Port Jackson on the 8th June 1832 aboard the ship "John". The ship had sailed from Downs in England on the 7th February 1832, a voyage of 122 days. It was the "John's" 4th trip carrying convicts to the colony.
John was aged 13 years when he was tried for stealing wet linen in the Middlesex Court on the 9th April 1829 and sentenced to 7 years transportation. The ship's indent papers give the following details of him:-
