- Notes: Wedding. CHAPMAN—MURPHY. On Wednesday, April 7, the Rev. Father Tansey, assisted by the Rev. Father Baugh, celebrated the wedding of Miss Mary Cecilia Murphy, second daughter of the late Joseph Murphy, of Burwood, and Mrs. Murphy, of " Bantry," Haberfield, with Captain James Austin Chapman, O.B.E., eldest son of Mr. Austin Chapman, M.H.R., and Mrs. Chapman, " Ascot," Randwick. The bride, who was led to the altar by her uncle, Mr. V. P. McManus, wore a frock of while taffetas and georgette, and a veil of Limerick lace (lent by Mrs. Chapman, sen.) She carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations. The bridesmaids, Misses Mary Chapman and Rita Murphy, were attired in frocks of pink taffetas. Pink tulle veils and shower bouquets tied with pink tulle gave a dainty finish. Mr. J. Murphy was best man and Mr. F. Pooley groomsman. After the ceremony a small reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. Mrs. Murphy received the guests in a gown of navy taffetas, and a bouquet of tawny chrysanthemums. Mrs. Chapman, sen., was in a navy crepe de chene, and carried a posy of red carnations. Later Captain and Mrs. Chapman left per motor car for Avoca, the bride travelling in a costume of cherry and grey.
