Personal Notes:
Mary Bent was ‘a woman of great force of character’, noted for her kindness and hospitality. She capably managed ‘Gumly Gumly’, being ‘one of the most active women among stock’. After a trip to England in 1860, Mary managed a Broadmeadows property, dying there in 1884. Her burial was in Wagga Wagga. Her children are listed with the father, James Bourke.
