A popular wedding took place in
the far-out scrub last Thursday at
M. Bolton's selection, when his
daughter Annie was married to Mr.
Keough. It was a great journey for
Mr. Larkin, the minister, who con-
ducted the ceremony. Mr. Major
acted as best man and the happy
couple start their new life with the

OBITUARY.
CHARLES KEOUGH.
The late Charles Keough, whose sud-
den death occurred at his home on
October 16, was the eldest son of Mrs.
K. Keough and the late Mr. Henry
Keough, of Bell View, Evelyn. He
was born on the Burdekin and came
as an infant in arms with his parents
on the overland trip in a caravan to
Evelyn. He was the first pupil enrolled
at the old Evelyn Provisional School
erected by the pioneers of that wonderful
district. Charles Keough was es-
sentially, a timber man. He grew up
amongst the giant pines and cedars of
the primitive Evelyn scrub. He knew
timber thoroughly, and at the time of
his death his sawmill was carrying out
large jobs for the Army. He married
Miss Annie Bolton, daughter of a
pioneer Ravenshoe family by whom he
is survived also two sons, Mr Willie
and Mr Reg Keough. Mrs. Noel
Dempsey, Mrs. J. Boots and Miss
Daphne Keough are daughters. He
was buried on his own estate, at his
own resquest, the funeral services being
conducted by a visiting army chaplain,
Captain Baskin, of the Salvation Army.
