BENZINE EXPLOSION.
Farmer Injured.
AYR. February 17.
Whilst drawing benzine from the tank of a car, on Saturday evening, Mr. Arthur Rutherford, farmer, residing on Beach Road, sustained severeburns and shock when the benzine exploded. Mr. Rutherford went to his garage with a hurricane lamp, to get
benzine for a passing motorist whose supply had ran out and the benzine exploded when he was drawing it from the tank. It is understood that the car and the garage were badly damaged. The sufferer was removed to hospital.
