At St. John's Church, Ashfield, on October 7, Dr. Burton Wade, eldest son of Mr. C. G. Wade, was married to Miss Marjorie Hinder, eldest daughter of the late Dr. H. Critchley Hinder. The church was decorated. The Rev. F. W. Reeve (uncle of the bride) performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. A. Yarnold, rector of the parish. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Robert Hinder, wore a frock of ivory and crepe Georgette over palest pink. The bodice was composed almost entirely of tulle, and the train of silver tissue was lined with crepe Georgette and finished with tiny silver roses. Her veil was of beautiful old Limerick lace, and had been worn on previous occasions by several generations of the family. Her posy of carnations and roses and a diamond ring were the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Lorna Hinder (step-sister of the bride) and the Misses Loma and Doris Wade (twin sisters of the bridegroom). Mr. Keith Williams acted as best man, and the groomsmen were Dr. Keith Brown and Dr. Eric Asplnall. A reception was afterwards held at Carleton, Summer Hill, by Mrs. Critchley Hinder, amongst those present being Mr. and Mrs. C G. Wade, Dr. and Mrs. R. B. Wade, Mr. and Mis. Joseland, Dr. and Mrs. Antill Pock ley. Mrs. Macneil Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Bird, Miss Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Carter, tho Rev F. AV. and Mrs. Reeve, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hinder and Miss Hinder, Mrs. R. T. Jones and tho Misses Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fisher, Dr. and Mrs. Cosh, Miss Nicholls, Mrs. H. C. Pockley, Mrs N. V. Pockley, Mrs. Curlewis, Dr. Eric Pockley, nnd Mr. Frank Wade. Later In the afternoon Dr. and Mrs. Burton Wade motored to tho South Coast," tho bride wearing a navy taffeta coat and skirt, and a hat of navy and white aerophane. __ _ . |
