When Beatrice Valentine (Beatie) PEAPELL was born on February 14, 1880, in Townsville, Queensland, her father, Charles, was 30 and her mother, Julia Charlotte (nee FRUEN) was 40. She was the fifth of their five children. Her father Charles travelled widely and in November 1891, Beatie is a passenger on the ship "Ophir" with her parents and brother George Henry; having visited the ports of Colombo, Sri Lanka and King George Sound, Adelaide, Melbourne. Beatie married Henry George (Harry) PARKER on May 26, 1910, in Ayr, Queensland. They had three children during their marriage: Harold Henry Ivan, John Stanley Gordon and Victor Charles. Unfortunately their son John died in 1922 aged just 7. Beatie died on March 16, 1934, in Ayr, Queensland, at the age of 54, and was buried there. |
