Sad Shooting Fatality at Wando Vale.
A sad shooting accident occurred at Wando Vale last Friday evening when Mr Thomas Yelland of Melbourne, met his death from a gun shot wound. Mr Yel and, whose health had not been satisfactory for some time, was on a visit to his brother-in-law, Mr R. H. Bear, of Wando Vale. The details of the fatality are fully set forth in the report of the magisterial inquiry below. A very sad feature in connection with the tragedy is the fact that Mr Yelland leaves a wife and three children to mourn their loss. Mrs Yelland, accompanied by Mr John Yelland, the brother of the deceased, arrived from Melbourne on Saturday night. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr W. Peden and the remains of deceased were interred in the Casterton Cemetery on Sunday, the Rev. F. Stillwell, Vicar of Christ Church, officiating at the grave.
