NEWSTEAD. Tuesday.
Mrs Jacob Yager, licensee of the Glengower
Hotel, was burnt to death this
afternoon.
There was no other person on the
promises at the time, and it is supposed
her clothing caught fire whilst she
was attending to household work
She was an elderly woman. and the
license of the hotel had been in the
name or her late husband or herself
for very many years. She was well
Known and much esteemed, and her
tragic death will be learnt with deep
regret.
An inquiry will be held.
