SQUIRE-SOPER.
The wedding of Miss Florence Eliza-
beth Squire,.the third daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Squire, of Babinda, and Cyril
Francis Soper, second son of Mr. and
Mrs. Soper, of Tully, was solemnised
at the Presbyterian Church on June 6
at 6 pm, Rev. McPheat officiating.
The bride entered the church on the
arm of her uncle. Mr. McPaul, of Bel-
lenden Ker, and looked charming in
a bridal gown of white satin trimmed
with silk lace and cut on princess
lines with embroidered veil and
coronet of orange blossom. She also
carried a beautiful bouquet of pale
pink roses and asparagus fern. She was
attended by her sister, Mrs. W. Man
nix, as matron of honour, who was
gowned in an all over lace frock of
white and carried a bouquet of dahlias.
The little train bearer. Wilma Luff,
was frocked in a pale blue net frock
embroidered with pink roses worn
over satin, and head dress to match.
The duties of best man were carried
out by Mr. W. Mannix, of Bartle Frere.
The reception was held at the home
of Mrs. Pollard McLeod-street. The
beautiful two-tier wedding cake held
pride of place at the table, and was the
work of Mrs. Pollard, who also carried
out the table decorations.
The usual toasts were honoured, also
musical items, and after viewing the
lovely presents the happy couple left
amidst a shower of congratulations for
their honeymoon, which was spent at
Kuranda. - .

Man Seriously Injured.
Cyril Soper (28), of Severin
street, Cairns, received a probable
fracture of the base of tbe skull,
abrasions to right knee, shoulder
and left foot, and shock, as the re-
sult of a fall from the rear of a
moving utility truck. The accident
occurred at 4 o'clock on Saturday
afternoon as the truck was turning
into the Esplanade from Hayles
wharf. Last night his condition was
reported to be serious, but not dan-
gerous. Soper will be X-rayed this
morning.

OBITUARY
MB. C. F. SOPES.
Mr. Cyril Francis Soper (31), of
Severin-street, Calms, died in the
Cairns Base Hospital yesterday af-
ternoon as a result of injuries re-
ceived in an accident on March 26.
He had been employed as a motor
mechanic by the Cairns Regional
Electricity Board.
Bom at Proserpine, deceased had
been in Cairns for over 10 years.
He was a returned serviceman. He is
survived by a widow and a two-year
old daughter.
The funeral will leave St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church at 4.30
o'clock this afternoon and mem-
bers of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A. and em-
ployees of the Cairns Regional Elec-
tricity Board are invited.
