33-STONE MAN DIES
One of Melbourne's best known identities in the person of Ernest Bullas died on Friday. He was 33 stone m weight and 5ft. 9in. in height. For years he was known as the.'Pea nut King," a title which descended upon him when Percy Brunton, the oratorical genius of Yarra Bank fame, passed on. The latter cut a picturesque figure in Melbourne streets a couple of decades ago: He was always garbed in morning coat and silk hat and trundled a hand barrow loaded with peanuts and so and so's chewing gum. Morning, noon or night, he was always ready for an argument.. . Bullas was a living example of the old saying "laugh and grow fat." His booming laugh could always be picked out atop the city's roaring noises, and hardly, for a second throughout .the day did a characteristically beaming smile leave his face. He was aged 54 and unmarried.
Note 9: Fawkner Memorial Park wishes to advise that the location of the buried remains of the late Ernest James Bullas aged 54 are located at Methodist Compartment C Grave 2218.

MAN, 28 STONE, HURT IN CAR ACCIDENT
Believed to be Melbourne's heaviest man, and known in his business as the "Peanut King," Ernest Bullas, 52, of Edward st, Brunswick, was admitted to Royal Melbourne Hospital yesterday suffering from a broken leg.
The accident occurred when he was cranking up his car, one side of which has been fitted with special springs to carry his 28 stone. .The car, which has had one door removed for the driver's convenience, had apparently been left in gear and ran over its owner.
