QUINN— ROWSE. A wedding of interest to many peo ple in Townsville and the Croydon district was quietly celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, the Strand, Towns ville, on Wednesday evening, the Rev. Father Feeney officiating, when Annie Constance, second daughter otfMrs. A. M. Rowse, Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island, and the late Mr. H. Rowse, Croydon, was married to Edmund Arthur., youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Quinn, Bundaberg. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. Rowse, wore a graceful frock of white mariette, the bodice showing a design in silver and pearls, the full skirt falling in a series of soft handkerchief pleats from waist to hem. The long sleeves were slashed and caught together with pearl embroidery. A hat of rose beige pedaline and mariette trimmed with French posies, and a loosely tied bunch of pink and white roses com pleted the bride's costume. Mrs. C. L. Hayles (Cairns), sister of the bride, was matron of honour. Her frock of Ivory French voile was heavily bead ed and caught at the side In a bouf fant bow of tulle. Her large leghorn hat was circled with a wreath of hand-made flowers. Mr. J. Hitchman acted as best man. During the ser vice Miss K. Rooney presided at the organ. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. K. Rooney entertained the wed ding party at their home. Alexandra street. Mrs. Rooney received her guests in a frock of powder blue silk voile, hand-embroldered. worn with a soft -white felt hat. Mrs. Rowse. mother of the bride, chose a frock of navy reversible satin with Oriental trimmings, worn with a navy and mastic hat. Mr. and Mrs. Quinn left by mail train to spend a short holi day in Brisbane before returning to Sarina, which is their future home. Mrs. Quinn travelled in an ensemble frock of wine coloured silk Jersey, with touches of gold embroidery, worn with a felt hat of the same tone. |
