Fitzalan—Watts.
A pretty but quiet wedding was
celebrated on October 16, at St.
Nicolas’ Church, Sandgate, by the
Rev. Alexander Maxwell, rector,
when Mr Herbert Albini Fitzalan
(eldest son oi'Mr and Mrs H. Fitz
alan, Ferndon, Bowen, was mar
ried to Miss Ethel Letitia Watts
(only daughter of Mr and Mrs W.
Watts, late Kapai Whara, (Dea
gon.)
The bride, who was
given away by her cousin (Mr
Fred Holland), owing to the indis
position of her father, .......
She was
attended by one bridesmaid, Miss
Loo Fitzalan (sister of the bride
groom), .......
Later a reception
was held at -St. Colomb’s Henry
street, Sandgate; the residence of
Mrs McFarlane, (the bride's grand
mother) . .....

DEATH OF MR H. FITZALAN.
Word was received on Saturday
last -that Herbert.-Fitzalan passed
away on the previous, night. De
ceased was the eldest son of Mrs
Fitzalan, Don River and it will be
remembered was in business here
with Mr R. Carson, and left, a few
years,ago and purchased a commis
sion agency in Brisbane. He was a
grandson of the late Herbert Fit
zalan, one of the earliest residents
of Bowen, who laid out the Botan
ical Gardens, and planted those
beautlful fig trees that will shade so
"many persons at. the St. Patrick’s
Sports to-day. He leaves a wife
and 2 young children; a mother,
sister and brother to mourn their
loss.
