A Pennine Childhood - Dora mentioned around 1950 - photo of Dora and Bill Leese. They were living at Ashbourne House, Roes Lane, Crich
"I also went to be scrutinized by Joe's Aunt Dora and Uncle Bill at Ashbourne House in Crich; Aunt Dora was Mr Smith's sister. Ashbourne House had been the Smith family home for some time and was next door to the wood working and builder's shop, where several members of the family and about thirty employees from the village made coffins and furniture, Joe's Uncle Norman was in charge of the business" |
