The fine old church at Morpeth was beautifully decorated with white flowers on Wednesday, May 31, when Dr. Norman V. Pockley, of Sydney, and Miss Florence May Waddy, elder daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Waddy, were married. The ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Newcastle, assisted by the Rev. Stacy Waddy, brother of the bride, and the Rev. H. A. Wood, rector of the parish. The bride was given away by her father. Miss Katie Waddy attended her sister as bridesmaid, and Dr. Eric Pockley was best man. The Bishop presented to the bride the handsome prayer book which he used during the ceremony. The church was crowded with friends, who afterwards attended the reception by Mrs. Waddy at the Commercial Bank, which was gaily decorated with flags for the occasion. The bride's wedding dress was of ivory brocade, with a transparent yoke and bertha of lace, chiffon trills, and a panel of accordion-pleated chiffon frills down the front of the skirt. She carried a shower bouquet, and wore a diamond and sapphire ring, the gifts of the bridegroom. Her veil was embroidered and decorated with old Honiton lace. The bridesmaid wore cream voile, and a pale blue hat. She carried a bouquet of carnations and autumn leaves, with pale blue streamers, and wore a brooch of turquoise and pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride's golng-away dress was of navy blue with a white vest and touches of reseda green. She also wore a reseda green hat, trimmed with pale blue. The presents were very numerous.

DEATH OF COLONEL WADDY.
We regret to have to report the death of
Lieut.-Colonel Richard Anderson Waddy,
which took place at his residence, Parra-
matta, on Monday. Colonel Waddy, who
had been enjoying good health, was seized
with a heart attack on Sunday evening, to
which he succumbed. The deceased gen-
tleman was manager of the Commercial
Bank, Morpeth, for many years. He was a
military man of many years' standing,
and, in spite of his advanced years, showed
great vitality, and always evinced a desire
that the military should utilise his ser-
vices in some way or other. He was the
father of the Rev. P. Stacy and Rev. E. F.
Waddy, Mr. E. L. Waddy, and Captain R.
G. Waddy, and two daughters, Mrs. Cook-
ley and Mrs. McKenzie. On Saturday Mr.
Waddy attended a cricket match with his
son, and when he returned home was ap-
parently in his usual health. He was a
fine cricketer in his day, one of the best in
the northern district. He was 74 years
of age, and was prominently identified
with the volunteers for 20 years. For 30
years he was manager of the Commercial
Bank at Morpeth, and before that occupied
similar positions at Narrabri and Carcoar.
He leaves a widow, who is the daughter
of the late Dr. Stacey. His father was
son of the late General Sir Richard
Waddy, K.C.B. The funeral took place on
Tuesday morning from the deceased's late
residence, Thomas-street, to The King's
School Chapel, where a short service was
held. The interment took place in the
afternoon at the South Head cemetery.
