Evening Telegraph (Charters Towers) 30 Mar 1903
Death of Mrs. G. J. Lever.
We are sorry to learn that Mrs. E. H T
Plant received a telegram from Rockhampton
to-day, announcing the death of her youngest
sister Mrs. Lever, who is so well-known in
social circles in Charters Towers, having
resided here for many years when her
husband was manager of the Bank of New
South Wales. It is not many months ago
that Mrs. Lever was in the Towers on a visit,
and her numerous friends were pleased to see
her after a long absence. Mrs. Lever, who
had been nursing her daughter through an
attack of typhoid fever, was stricken down on
Friday last with the same disease, and so
severely prostrated that she passed away at
1 o'clock this afternoon. She was a lady of
the most genial and benevolent disposition
and a favourite with everybody in all circles
of society. The news of her death will not
only come as a surprise, but will be a severe
blow to all who were intimately acquainted
with her.

Lever, aged 83 years.
