OBITUARY
MRS. MARY HELEN MASON
The death occurred at Queanbeyan yesterday of Mrs. Mary Helen Mason, relict of the late Denman Etherley Mason, of Ballarat.

Born at Wolverton station, Buckinghamshire, England, 81 years ago, the late Mrs. Mason, when six years of age, arrived in Australia with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Nettleton. The family settled in Ballarat shortly after her marriage to the late Denman Mason. The late Mrs. Mason resided in Ballarat and Beaufort, Victoria, for many years.

On the death of her husband, 30 years ago, Mrs. Mason moved to New South Wales, and for the past 12 years had resided, with her family of seven sons and one daughter, at Queanbeyan, where she took a keen interest in the work of the Methodist Church, being a member of the Ladies' Church Aid.

A short service was held at the Methodist Church, Queanbeyan, last night, Rev. E. T. Chapman officiating.

The funeral will take place at the Methodist Cemetery, Ballarat, on Saturday, at which six sons will attend.

All the members of the family of eight children survive, while there are 18 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. The members of the family, who are all well known locally, are Denman Etherley Mason (Canberra), Millicent (Mrs. Allan Mc- Sweyn, of Tullibigeal, N.S.W.), James Mason (Ballarat), Walter H. (Canberra), Frederick, Stanley, and Horace (Queanbeyan), and Robert (Wollahra, Sydney).
